DB - Monday 2nd March 09 - Finding Our Calling
I urge you, then - I who am a prisoner because I serve the Lord: live a life that measures up to the standard God set when he called you. Be always humble, gentle, and patient. - Ephesians 4:1-2
Paul wrote from the prison, telling about how he seek God on his knees, asking God to bless His people and give to them power through His Spirit to be strong in their inner selves. In faith, he said, we will have Jesus living in our hearts. He hope that our roots and foundation are in Christ's love.
This is the calling of God.
We are to live a life that measures up to the standard of God and not any other form or habit. God calls us to be humble. Many a times we allow our pride to decide our ways. We are to be gentle. We often feel frustrated because we are angry and hunger for advantages rather than to offer comfort to others. We are to be patient. Yes, patience is the mother of success. We say that we trust God but our end result is for immediate answers. Be patient.
It's not what you do but who you are that's most important.
