DB - Tuesday 3rd March 09 - What Are We Holding On To?
Run your best in the race of faith, and win eternal life for yourself; for it was to this life that God called you when you firmly professed your faith before many witnesses. - 1 Timothy 6 : 12
Faith is a simple act of trust and believe. Once I was told that 'simple faith' is like when we sit down on a chair. We just sit. Without any doubt that it would hold our weight.
Simple faith in our Lord is what we need. It is for this purpose that God wants us to run the best race of our life. At the end of the race, it would be glorious to hear Jesus saying, "Well done my good and faithful servant, you have ran the race well, fought the good fight and now go into eternal life with Me."
The foundation which we stand on in everything we do must be from our Lord Jesus. No other foundation can be righteous and strong enough to withstand the worldly storm and pressure. Check to see and ensure that we are standing firmly on holy land, the solid rock. All other grounds are sinking sand.
The trials of earth are small compared with the triumphs of heaven.
