DB - Sunday 1st February 2009 - God Is At Work
Because God is always at work in you to make you willing and able to obey His own purpose. - Philippians 2 : 13
This is a wonderful verse to reinstate in us the faith and hope in God. We know that by our own strength, we shall not be able to walk in the path of righteousness and would be weak to resist the temptations along the way. We know that we should never pluck the wild flowers by the road side. Knowing is one thing and not entertaining the thoughts of unrighteousness is the first step to obey God's commandments.
Don't do anything from selfish ambition or form a cheap desire to boast, but be humble towards one another, always considering others better than yourselves. And look out for one another's interests, not just for your own. : Phil 2: 3-4
To be humble is the mother of success. Humbleness will restrain us from asserting one's position, power and status. In treating others as equal, we will contribute greatly to harmony and respect. We need to be that difference to separate us from the world as our bodies are the temple for our Lord's Holy Spirit.
The power that compels us comes from the Spirit who indwells us
