DB - Saturday 7th February 09 - Temporary Delight

Your law is my delight. - Psalm 119 : 174

Happiness is what everyone look for. For some, a carefree attitude is what makes them happy. Free from care would temporary give us a false impression that all is well. Unfortunately, life is never to be like this. A lapsed moment of care when driving would lend us in a serious accident.  A lapse in our choice of words, would invite endless verbal abuse. A lapse in our eating would result in   having unhealthy bodies.  A lapse......the list can go on and on.

In any game if there is no rules and regulations, the efforts will never be enjoyed both by players and spectators. A country cannot afford to have rules and laws that cannot be enforced. A social club or any organisation without any settled procedure and regulations will result in a free for all and total chaos.

We Christians too have to follow God's commandments and have delight in them. God's law established the respect and adoration for us towards Him. When God's laws are closely followed, we shall be free from punishment and never to worry about any wrong doing. Just like keeping within the legal speed limit on the roads, we are sure to be saved and can enjoy the ride in peace and comfort.

Sail on then my brothers and sisters in Christ, keep within God's commandments and we shall  have peace and comfort all the way till we rest at Jesus' feet.

God take delight in us - how can we help but delight in Him?
